I would first suspect the Hall effect system and perhaps the ignition module. When you turn the key to start, does the tach bounce? If not, there is not tach signal from the Hall effect sensor to tell the computer to squirt the injectors. Check the condition of the connector on the side of the distributor. Check all grounds, including wiring to grounds near lift point on head. Perhaps nesting mice chewed this wiring. If you can find a used turbo distributor of same vintage(so Hall connector fits), swap distributors. If now good, the Hall sensor in the old distributor was bad.
If you have a Bentley Manual, follow the fuel injection and ignition test procedures. Townsendimports.com tech docs also has this.
