I'm sorry, well, just bought an 87 Saab 900, and when you either put a boosterpack on it, or a battery with a good charge, she runs fine. But, disconnect the pack or the battery, and she dies. The alternator is new, and it appears that there may be an open ground. I was told this is a common problem with this model car, and I figured I'd go after that first, even if I have to replace most of the ground wires. On most cars, I'm discovering that Saab's are not like most cars, when these symptoms present, it's either the alternator or voltage regulator, but, it appears that this type of vehicle doesn't have a normal voltage regulator, and has grounding issues. I was hoping to get a bone thrown my way, but worse case scenerio, I take my nice volt meter and cont. check all the wiring under the hood and go from there.
Thanks agian,
Tibby
