Bought Used Tires 4/$20. A steal or waste of money?

I'm so poor can't afford new tires at the moment. I picked up 4 tires(185x65x15) w/ wheels from local ad in newspaper. I got 2ea Nokia Hakkapelitta 10(90% tread), 1ea Hankook Winter radial99(80%tread), and 1ea Hankook Zovac HPW401(75% tread). All for $20 with the wheels.
Looks like all of these are winter tires with holes for studs. However, they DO NOT have studs in the tires- just holes. I don't know much about tires at all. Is it safe to drive studded tires without the studs and also mix and match these 4 tires of different brands? I wanted to put the 2 good shape Nokia's in front and have the other 2 brands in the back.
Also, the wheels are saab 4 lugs that look like what I currently have on my '89 but have some different numbers on them but they all share ONE similiar marking: "5 1/2J X 15", which is same marking on the wheels on my saab now. I assume it means 5 1/2 inches offset on 15 inch wheels?
I can just unbolt my tires and bolt on these ones right? They all seem to be fully inflated. thanks
