Over the years I have owned many versions of the of the 900T. '81, '84, '86, and '87. My father drove me around in a '77 99GLE with the classic faded brown paint job. I bought a used '99 9-3 three years ago and the car has been wonderfully reliable. At the same time, it is very different from the old 900. Much more cramped and the visability is much more limited. Many of the little dash parts are cheap plastic. It handles very well and I love the engin so far. The front and side air bags and not having to worry about passing PA emissions sold me. As much as I miss the old style, the new car has been great in different ways. Much less charactor unfortunatley. I actually donated my '87 to charity about 5 months ago and cleaned my basement of all 900 parts. I read this board when I miss the old style. I understand your sadness.
