Welcome to the family. A lot of times, engineering like that keeps us coming back for more, or at least fixing our cars vowing to never buy anything new as they are difficult to work on.
Have you tried flooding the lock cylinder with lubricant? Sometimes if it hasn't seen lube in a while and the temperature goes down, it'll get sticky.
You can order replacement locks from a dealer. To get them keyed-alike to the rest of the car, you'll need a keycode. That code came on a stamped plastic/metal piece with the original keys, and when it is long gone you'll need to try another route.
I need to re-key my convertible- believe it or not somebody put different lock cylinders in the ignition, doors, and trunklid. Back to the parts box I go.
If the cylinder itself is loose in the door, you may have to bend the little clip that holds it in place. Simple, eh?
