Trans "spline coupler" problem

Hi, I have posted about this problem before and thought I had it resolved. It has happened again and I wanted to throw a few ideas past you guys to see what you think. The problem that keeps happening is the circlip that holds the coupler in place that apparently connect all gears but 5th keeps coming loose. The circlip has stretched and pops out allowing the tube that couples the two splines together to slide free and uncouple the splines... losing all gears but 5th. The coupler is found behind the front access panel on the trans. The last time this happened, I used wire to "pull" the two holes together on the circlip to keep it in the groove and hold the coupler in place. That has worked for nearly a year without any problems. It finally gave way today. I don't want this to happen again so here are my ideas.. let me know what you think will work best: 1) replace the circlip and put a blob of JBWeld on it to hold it where it belongs. 2)do on spot weld on the circlip and the splined thingey where it belongs to hold it in place. 3)try a zip tie on the opposite side of the circlip from the coupler to keep the circlip where it belongs even if it pops out of the groove again. I dont think that there will be any need to remove this coupler in the future... if the tranny grenades.. I will just find a new one and not use this one, so that is why I am leaning toward the JBWeld or spot weld. Any ideas? THanks, Brian
