Initially, I used it as a wedge, hammering on the end as it slid in between the tie rod end and the knuckle. Unfortunately, the tie rod end would not budge and separate from the knuckle.
After I heated the knuckle, I inserted the fork again, and this time I used it as a pry bar, jumping on the end of it to force the tie rod end out of the knuckle.
Glad that's over. I'm in the middle of replacing all shocks, ball joints, tie rod ends, a-arm bushings, sway bar bushings, and (if I really want to shoot myself) motor mounts. This is for front and rear (which means panhard rod and torque arms as well). Hence the need to get things done as soon as I can since there's a lot to do.
