I bought a 94 convertible swimming pool on Saturday. The top is completely shot and the carpet had about an inch of water above the carpet. From below the car I couldn't see any rust holes so I hoped for the best. I also own an 88 TC that I have replaced the top on (and swore I would never do again) so I knew I could fix it. Anyway, I used a very strong shop vac on the carpets and quickly realized that wasn't going to do it. I removed the seats, metal trim, center console, and seat belt hold downs. Once I removed the carpet I removed the saturated sound mats that were smelly and slimy. With everything removed I was left with about an inch of water on the floor panels. It would have never dried out on it's own. (at least until the floor panels rotted out) I was extremely thankful when I saw there was no rot caused by this problem. I plan on using Lysol to disinfect everything. I also plan on running an electric heater inside the car to get it good and dry. Good luck
