So do you still stick with the pirelli P4000's or whatever they were that came factory on the car :)
Same with coolant, motor oil, brake pads, etc?
I do see what you are saying & in some areas you are correct that OEM is definantly better then aftermarket stuff however that's definantly not always true. Try comparing the factory boge shocks to a set of koni's, or the factory C900 tires which ended production 10 or so yrs ago to something newer & the list goes on :)
From my experience of playing with SPG's (ownded a 87, 3 88's & a 89 SPG) which have used the following combinations including OEM springs & OEM shocks, OEM springs with koni's, intrax & koni & finally/presently brads adj springs with koni's & from my experience over the last 13 yrs the SPG springs are by far the worst combo of the 3 springs that I have tried :) Not just in comfort but handling, etc :)
Like you, I am also not a professional & it's just my opinion :) & FWIW I am also someone who uses a lot of aftermarket non factory parts on my SPG & I do not feel it's made the car perform worse in any way :)
