I put used SPG springs on my '90 'cuz the originals were sagged out to the point where I was hitting both ends if I wasn't going slower than 5 mph. (The front skidplate on speedbumps & drainage troughs, & the rear (gas tank) with four people & luggage.) But, I got the springs for much less than $100 (thanks andy!!) so it was worth it over buying new. I had put new shocks on about two years earlier, so I was good there. I also ended up buying a set of 1/2" poly riser pads for the rear from SAS. I did this to further reduce rear bottoming 'cuz we use my car as the family pickup truck whenever we need to haul lots-o-crap (landscaping, furniture, etc). With the amount of sag I had on the original springs, this setup put the front & rear at exactly the same height as before the swap.
