So far, the greatest success has been Ford taking over Jaguar. Their quality has actually improved. Maybe they are no longer relying on "Lucas, the king of darkness" for their electrical products. I have been told that their reliablity has increased, but I assume that their fit & finish may have deteriorated. But still, a high price to pay ffor something with a Ford label.
I get a kick out of the new Saab commercials showing "Born from jets", especially the new 9-7, the more expensive Chevy Trailblazer with the key moved to between the seats. I wonder how many Saab engineers actually helped in the design. With GM set to lay off many employees, and actually making more money on the financing of cars, instead of the manufacturing of cars, I can't see how that is good for anything but eventual extinction of the Saab line, or for just slapping Saab labels on Chevies. I wonder what Saab name they would give for my 2006 Impala SS? The 9-11X maybe?
