Well, this morning I go out and decide to check out the dead stock stereo system. It is the Clarion with cassette and Graphic EQ.

System would show lights and power, but no sound. So I pull it all out, check the fuses in the amp, then for the heck of it pull the covers off the head unit. Cant see anything seriously wrong other than a few dead bugs crammed in the covers and a small metal pin fell out, looks like somethign from the cassette. I put it all back in and WALLA, all works, has great sound too. Is there a way to attach a CD changer to this? Or will I just be mounting an IPod with FM transmitter?

ALso, while poking around near the APC controlbox, I moved teh vacuum lines for the cruise control motor and teh engine stumbled. Played a bit more and it died. Turns out that the ignition module's connectors were all corroded. Cleaned them up with an emory board for the module, but not teh plug yet, need a thin metal nail file for that. This seems to make a difference, and connections sem solid. I can move the module around tap it and no change to motor. One question though, I though this was supposed to be mounted to the firewall opposite teh APC module??? Shows no screws or mounting place, just holes that look to never have been used???

Anyway, this is looking better and better. Needs some work, needs full exhaust including header pipe (from turbo back), teh drivers side 1/2 shaft, possibly new lifters, but I have to do an oil change and run a mild flush and some MMO. I'm hesistant to run the flush, as even with two oil changes after it, there may be some in the oil, and am concerned this will damage the turbo. Anyhow, I'm psyched.... I have 6 months to get this car up and running for my son. Appreciate all the help and input.
