That would be blowing fuses or, if unfused, starting fires. Seems far more likely that you'd have a corroded connector somewhere in a line. or a poorly-plugged-in one. Or, if insulation WERE broken in wire along the floor, it might be corroded internally almost to the point of breaking. But what would your floorboards and carpet be like if so much water were there?
