I purchased a 1991 900 SE convertible 5 speed ("SPG"), last November. I haven't driven many newer 900 convertibles but I prefer the pre-1994. The newer convertibles I find to have less wind noise and a little more refined. I find their styling to be very ho-hum. Not nearly the character or kick in the pants acceleration of the earlier convertibles. I have the red APC box which does give more boost. The newer turbo engines seem to be more progressive with boost and less turbo lag. I am anxious to get my 900 out and drive it as I really wasn't able to before winter set in. Good luck with your decision.
