A couple ideas on some but not all your questions. I "lock" the flywheel by holding a screwdriver in the teeth of the flywheel and bracing it against the trans case. I knock the pilot in and out with a socket that is similar in diameter to the bearing outer race. Be sure you clean and use sealer on the threads of the flywheel and slave bolts. They will leak if you don't. Use a small of sealer like 518 on the outer surface of the rear main and clutch shaft seals. I use a small block of maple wood to tap in the rear main seal. Many taps ,around and around,little by little. I use silicone grease on the inner surfaces of the slave where the o-rings contact the metal.
