Do all of the injector o-rings. The injectors come out all at the same time, still attached to the rail, so you might as well. Have a pick with a hooked end on it ready in case one or more decide to stay in the cavity.
Idle hunt- hit the AIC valve with penetrant and use a solvent to clean around the throttle valve.
Dying/starvation warm- check your oxygen sensor signal and change your fuel pressure regulator. They usually last 150k or fifteen years, both right on time. Even if the reg isn't bad you're bound to start having problems with it soon.
I don't know about 240s (at least a Z as opposed to a DL) but the sixteen valve Bentley book is highly regarded as the best book you can buy.

Don't forget, the ignition timing is set at 2000 RPM. Have a friend work the throttle with an eye on the tach while you point the gun and twist the distributor.

Welcome, and finally, get to know a few site sponsors. They're indispensible for finding little stuff like that grommet on the corner of the valve cover (or brake booster) and CI injectors for $8 apiece and a ten-dollar Bosch fuel filter and a $5 cap and rotor. Need I continue?
I'm betting your auto will die around 150k. As my 8 valve 4-door is an ex-automatic, as long as you're willing to do the swap (start saving parts and cash now!) you will be totally amazed with the results.
