I would say it depends on the price. anf if it is warranted. It also depends on your trust of this guy as well. Some yards do lie about the mileage on their inventory. The engine if properly stored, will be fine..
IF you only take the tranny, then you will need a new gasket. I find the best way to do this is place the tranny on the table or ground, remove the two dowels from the bottom of the engine. Place these dowels in the tranny dowels holes , then place the gasket on the tranny( sealer at gasket slots) and lower the engine carefully onto the tranny. Any carelessness, and you will be ordering a new tranny/engine gasket.
