CMyles, I hate to ask, but what is a "crotch rocket"?

diskullman, you managed to "redirect" the topic from Saabness to turbos.
I'm not sure what exit you live off of but whenever I drive through the Garden State (I287), the cars are flying. BTW, my wife's from Jersey, so please don't take offense at the "what exit" reference. We always laugh because most people have the perception that Jersey is one big parkway. There not aware of the open areas.

What I notice about my turbo (88 vert auto) is not so much the pick up (I can still beat 18 wheelers), but the acceleration from 55 to 75. I hate to go much past 80 cause I'm afraid the gizmos will fly apart being only a 3 speed. It dreams of being a 5 speed one day.

BMWs are nice, but I think overpriced. I also think the newer models lack any design originality (just my opinion, maybe a stupid one). I own an older 5 series, 5 speed, gets over 30 mpg at 65 mph.

The 900 is way easier to repair. If anyone doubts this, think clutch job.

Great posts, we should start a thread on innovative designs of the 900.

How about the backwards engine for starters?
