hard to pin these sounds down because almost every moving part with a bearing or intake component can "sing" when worn or failing. My turbo is about shot and really whistles on spool up. From my experience, a hum or sing on throddle release is often a pulley or belt issue. If you still have a/c, the idler pulley is a good possibility. Pay attention to try to narrow down to right/left or front/back of the engine.
