Congratulations on finding a rust free car! Nothing is nicer than not having to struggle with corroded parts or the terror of sticking a screwdriver through bodywork that is only held together a rust and a bit of paint.

To be honest, i am a bit leary of most rust treatments although i know that many people swear by waxoyl including the british sports car crowd (who should know a thing or two about rust).My strategy (besides not driving it in winter) is just be to be vigilant and keep the rust- prone spots clean and free of debris.

In particular, get the front wheels off the car and clean up the areas where the drive shaft passes through the body. Spray these areas out well with water and let them dry completely. Then spray the whole area with any kind of sticky tenacious oil- i like motorcycle chain lube. Another area to pay attention to is the space between the inner wheel well and the external sheet metal at the top of the front wheels. These areas did not receive sufficient paint at the factory and the rot often starts here from the inside out. I typically spray this cavity with grease/oil as well- the more the better.

In addition to this cleaning/treatment regime you should make sure that all drains at the bottom of doors and and in the trunk are functioning properly. It's OK if water gets in, you just want to make sure it gets out again promptly.

Also pay special attention to paint condition at the bottom edges of doors (including the hatch). Any paint missing here should be touched up quickly. Water droplets tends to sit here and the rust can get into the metal seams.
