it was a 92t and 89t Posted by vvack0matic [Email] ![]() ![]() In Reply to: Re: distributors and compatibility, Saana88 ![]() ![]() |
rewired the plug and put the 92 dis in, found when the rotor is straight vertical on the old dis while it is in the motor, when the 92 was put in the rotor was in the one o,clock position.
i turned the dis, to make up for the difference.
but in any case the car started and prr-ed once again with the 92 diss.
drove the car around the parking lot for around 3 to 4 minutes.
parked it and let her idle turned the a.c. on to try to get the motor up to operating temp. and it was no more than 40 seconds after that the motor died and did not restart.
once again had the same symptoms of the previous distributors before hand.
so now after trying 4 different distributors, 3 ignition amplifiers, a second apc unit, cleaned and checked the amm & the wires inside (looked all in tacked)
different ignition coil (the one off the 92t)
new spark wire from coil to diss. cap
all plugs checked and rechecked
as it stands the car is drivable in the morning for around 6 minutes.
so tomorrow shes towed.
i have no clue as to why the symptoms remain the same after everything was tried. towing her to a saab shop where they can get the computer up on her and find out whats the miss. and finish fine tuning my timing with my newly acquired diss.
as it stands comes Monday if i don't tow her the parking lot that i so elegantly made my new car work shop will.
