I highly doubt that you would be loosing any serious amount of gear box oil through the threads of that rear stud even if it weren't any thread sealer on it.
So if you are loosing a lot of gear box oil, the most likely sources are the left and right driver seal and o-rings and the shifter shaft seal which can actually leak quite a bit (1q in 1000 miles).
It is also a bolt in the very front of transmission/engine package (under exhaust) that some people tend to forget installing and that would leave an 8mm hole right into the transmission.
Since several other bolts were loose, I can tell that it has been a less than professional person working on that transmission at some point and time.
