1993 900T questions

Just got my son's 1993 Comm Ed on the road. My car's down so I drove it to work today. I've got an issue and a question.
Issue: We put all new silicone vac hoses on the car. The vacuum canister in the passenger-side fender is making a sound like a kazoo when the car is in vacuum. Is there some kind of a diaphram in there? It's kind of like the noise you get when you stretch the opening of a baloon and let the air squeek out, only a lower pitch. I've checked the hoses for pinches and there's none. I'm not sure if the car was making noises before the new hoses because the car is new to us.
Question: My 1994 Convertible has a switch inside the car on the lower console to lock the doors. It also came with a remote. My son's 1993 CE 3DHB doesn't have a button. All the doors lock when you use a key in the driver's door which tels me that there is some kind of system in the car. Did any 900 3DHBs come with a switch to lock the door from inside? Is this something I can add? I've got a complete alarm system and 2 remotes from my old 1994 Comm Ed. Can I add that system and be able to lock or open the doors remotely? Anyone done this?
