I do the exact same thing turbocon86 does. Just a dab on each lug bolt, and I also wipe a thin coating on the lip of the hub where it fits into the center of the wheel. I've had cases where I've been able to remove lug bolts, but needed a mallet to get the wheel off the hub.
With anti-sieze, the bolts come out easily. Some folks may be concerned that the bolts could loosen up - that's not the case. Threaded pieces are not held together by friction - when torqued correctly, there is actually a little deformation of the surfaces, and that locks things together.
And I also have a nice big X wrench in the trunk - something with more mechanical advantage than the small lug wrench that comes with the car. And at home, I just drag out the 18" breaker bar, and also have a piece of cheater pipe.
I think Siegfried got confused - it sounds like he thought you mean a threadlocker, like Loctite. Definately not recommended.
