Or you can do what I did with my old Dodge Dakota... :-D
The damn wipers consistantly went on that truck. The wiper arms never fit snugly on the spindle and they used to strip all the time. The motor was going but the wipers just stayed in place... or flew off on the highway.
I finally got frustrated at going to the local bone yard and getting wiper arms (actually cleaned them out) and just ghettoed the wipers. Hooked a bungie on the driver's wiper and clipped it to the spindle of the passenger's wiper. Then tied a string to the arm and ran it into the driver's window. I'd pull the string to wipe the windshield then the bungie would pull the wiper back into the down position. The truck was a beater.
I actually did this, but I'm just kidding about it being a solution for you of course.
