Saana88, your advice when I did the 5-speed conversion last spring was more help than you can imagine. Great list, but it took a LOT more beer than you recommended.
Anyway, i will check or re-check the items you mentioned here soon. I did clean the throttle body with carb cleaner, but will check those passages. Can't remenber if I blew them out last fall when I started troubleshooting this problem. Duty cycle was 50% when checked a couple months ago. Fuel distributor was removed and cleaned also at that time, air flow plate seemed to move freely and did actuate the injectors when pulled up with fuel pump jumpered. The IAC and WUR heater coils are in fine shape per Bentley manual. This particular Saab has the best vacuum pull of any I have owned, so I do not suspect any major leaks. I do need to recheck that fuel modulating valve to see what kind of noise it is making. I'm thinking it was a normal buzzing sound. Does this modulating valve come into play while cranking the engine? Seems to me that I am not getting any fuel during crank time other than the "cold start valve". But once it finally fires up, it has no issues at all. Could be the air flow plate is sluggish during crank, but acts ok after the car is running with constant air flow. I dunno?
