Sorry for trying.
After having my car out of service for a week and a half after I apparently overtorqued some mounting bolts, I'm in a "know your strength" phase. Just forgive me for not having a whole lot of tolerance for the endless string of posters trying to do things without thinking about it first. I also get sick of trying to deal with bolts on my 900s that have been needlessly overtorqued in the past.
If it makes you feel any better, I broke a couple of those in 2005. I was using a six-inch 3/8" driver with a deep socket. That started the question of what is wrong? Are the bolts too soft or am I applying too much force. After I read the torque spec in the Bentley book, I realized I was applying too much force.
There's no need to get defensive, it's just a really dry sense of humor. After reading a bunch of my recent posts, I don't want to hear about it. The whole point of a communal message board is to get a bunch of different opinions and depth of knowledge and experiences. If this doesn't help, why am I wasting time trying to help other people out?
It's nothing personal, just don't attack me when I make a suggestion.
