Don't seem like bolts that need lots of torque.

As DivrDon says, these are bolts "in shear" and the force is mainly taken even then not by the bolts but by the socket in the A-arm that the ball joint forging slides into, the bolts just hold it in position. The forces are mainly up and down and in and out on the shanks of the bolts, not much against the bolt head or the nut and threads.
The nut only needs to be set down so it doesn't want to loosen, so maybe even much softer bolts than Saab's are adequate to hold against the needed torque.
I disagree with Zig's what I'd call overcautious comment that bolt threads wear or that they even weaken. And in my experience the nylon keeper insert in automobile nuts is not much degraded by age or by being loosened and retightened, though maybe after many many removals it will lose some of its squeeze and effect. I also doubt that that feature of the nuts ever gets called on in real world use - - the force that holds these from loosening is the good old fashioned one of enough tightening but not too much.
The same comments about strain also apply to the nut on the lower front shock mounting stud. Just tight enough. Apparently a lot of these get stripped of their threads or snapped off by over-careful owners. (This doesn't apply to you, nicknick, and I believe you when you say you didn't overdo it on the ball joint bolts too.)
