all about torque wrenches, and the only reason that they use them 90% of the time is for liability reasons. they need to be able to say "spark plugs were torqued to such and such" when the aircraft has crashed into the rockys.
I am religious about head bolts, and a few others, but mostly estimations on general stuff. i try not to make them as tight as they will go, that just makes life harder the next time around, and increases failure rate over the long term. the local tire place doesn't get my business anymore as they use their impact driver till it won't turn anymore, then pull out a torque wrench for show, without even checking what the saab bolts need! got bored of going home and backing them out, to reset.
but really, Zig, my leg hurts now, from all the pulling....
