I can see drops of water in the bottom of a 12 oz drink bottle I filled thru the fuel rail banjo fitting, did the same thing six bottles full, still coming out.
Anyone know how much drygas I'd need to put in to absorb that? And, does it work gradually? One bottle in already, plus a solid dose of Stabil, to a little over half a tank of gas.
I know water is soluble in alcohols, and alcohols are soluble in gasoline. So, adding alcohol to gas makes water dissolve into it instead of staying as globules. What's a safe percentage and how fast does it act, is the question. I can't agitate it as I can't thread a hose down thru filler neck into the tank to make bubbles.
I have a bulk container full of printer's alcohol, which is isopropyl alcohol near pure. Can I use that?
Update: I just did try that, 1 1/2 quarts of it. Will leave car for a while and try it later. I think I'm going to have to pull the fuel filter, replace that, as well as drain the complete tankful.
Tank has a plug in the bottom, maybe meant for this situation. Once it's low enough I'll rustle up a big pan and try pulling that plug.
