the c900, and the 9000s too, had some ODB-1 codes that can be read. I know that the ISAT was the tool of choice, but the TECH-2 will read many of the codes, AND has the ability to reset them too. I believe that the three largest differences between ODB-1 and ODB-2 are (not in any meaningful order) 1) ODB-2 has a specific connector type and it has to be near the steering column, 2) ODB-2 at that connector has most, if not all, of the information available through out the car, 3) ODB-2, if using the manufacturers tester (read TECH-2) will give you the verbage of the code and not just a number which needs to looked up in a table.
I can read and reset several codes on my c900s, and the later the year the more I can do. I can also do even more on my 9000s, and my 1996 Aero is full ODB-2, as well as buddies OG 900 and of course 9-5s. It's so much faster to have the words, Rear O2 Sensor slow, than having to lookup the five digit code.
