Crank seal and oil pump o-ring replacement

I'm preparing to replace the crank seal and oil pump o-ring on my 1990 900S.
So far, I've removed the water pump pulley and outer crank pulley. All I can say is that it would be helpful to have 10-inch long fingers when removing the outer crank pulley. Tight fit, and then some, but it's out. I've saved up some of my favorite curses for the fiddling around that will probably be needed to refasten this pulley.
There is a 30-mm bolt securing the main crank pulley. I'll be getting the correct size socket and cutting it shorter due to the limited space between the bolt and firewall.
Now, to remove this bolt,I plan to block the tires and leave the car in gear to prevent the crank from turning. Is this going to be enough or is there something else I need to do to lock the crank in place?
Any advice is appreciated.
