I used a boxed wrench and heated the angled end to a flat/straight wrench. Then I had someone hold a wrecking/crow bar against the flywheel tooth and bellhousing through the access hole. Some on this site have braced the wrench and bumped/switch the starter motor to loosen the large nut, with the ignition spark disconnected. Be Careful of the hall sensor pick-up behind the pulley area, if your year car has this there. My 91/900s did! If you can, place the oil pump gears back in with the same teeth mating and the same side out against the housing. Good time to check the harmonic balancer for separation. They will look rough on the edge of the rubber, but this doesn't necessarily mean it's bad. You just shouldn't be able to move the center and outter parts. After the jobs completed, crank the engine with ignition spark disconnected until oil pressure light goes out. If the light doesn't go out, you'll have to pull the oil filter mount off and prime the oil pump through the hole where the mount was. Don't get the small bolts for the oil pump housing mixed-up on their location. My first oil pump seal job took me 6 hours, but it was worth it to not have oil everywhere. Good Luck.
