that is the cruise control vacuum pump and there is supposed to be one 'naked' connector and two (IIRC) 'connected' ports.
YOu mentioned the car's boost didnt alter when you disconnected the APC solenoid (the one sitting above the radiator in the middle). that to me should be a sign that perhaps that unit isnt doing its job. waddya think?
please give us an update as i am trying to get my 87 SPG squared away - fuel smell in the cabin, poor boosting, and a sudden drop in idle speed when i barely touch the throttle.
