Thanks Larry for the therapy. I know that BUT it is difficult to execute at times. I did find a way to check oil pressure. Went to ACE got a gas type fitting (gas lines to furnaces) it was very close to metric and the right size to go into oil send unit hole. Clamped a 2 inch piece of high pressure hose to the standard thread fitting that came with a oil gage (standard type for add on's) Oil pressure 60 PSI at idle (1,000 rpm)cold and 70 psi plus a little at 2,000 rpm, so I guess pressure relief valve is good. I put in about a third quart of Marvel mystery oil and 10 W 30 Castrol and new filter. Did not use the engine flush as it suggested removing pan if engine had more than 50,000 miles and it does have 133,00.
engine sounded a little quieter. May do the bleed check again at # 5 cam cap. Have a new oil pressure send unit being delivered today. Just happy I have oiol pressure somewhere. Sounds to me I can forget oil pressure relief valve removal?
