Why don't you check out the motor you have before buying a new one? You might consider cleaning, lightly honing and re-ringing the engine you currently have.
Digging into the new motor as far as the bottom end, you could find that the new motor needs rings too.
If you are into longevity, then you might rebuild the whole motor. You will not know, if the cylinders need boring until you measure and compare to the piston measurements. Too much clearance will mean a rebore and oversize pistons. Well worth the investment for a vehicle you are planning to keep. Not worth the investment, if you plan on selling quick.
