The biggest problems with the Autobox are mileage and highway RPMs. If you're used to less than 3,000 RPM on he highway, get used to 3,500 and more. More RPMs also mean a heavier thirst for gas.
Around town, they're fine driving. The BW37 really wants to pull away from stop lights (don't let your foot slip off the brake!). You lose the fun of double-clutching downshifts, but the car is still fine to drive.
If you just use it locally, with only occasional highway trips, you'll be fine. But if you do use it on the highway, and are expecting 30+ MPG, get used to more like 23-25. My Sister had a non-turbo 90 900 with a 5-speed, and Mom has a non-turbo 90 900S with the auto. Sister could get NJ-Boston and have well more than 1/4 tank left. Mom's car needed a top-up to get TO Boston...
Like others said, keep flushing the tranny fluid (Type F ONLY), and you should be good to go for a long time.
