Frankly, I don't know what I'm talking about, but I don't see how snow, sand, gravel, or any of that has any impact on brake pistons. Rotors get pretty hot, and snow isn't going to be a concern. There are mm of clearance between caliper body and rotor and the rotors move so it's not like sand and gravel are going to hang out there either. I suppose if your pads are extremely worn and it takes you a long time to get through the last little bit the exposed piston might eventually corrode, rust, or wear, but the nice thing about Wilwoods is you call up Wilwood and you order a new piston or four.
I never had any such problems here in California, and I bought my Wilwoods used from Conn-tech, after they'd been through Connecticut winters.
Honestly, I think you're worrying about nothing, and I'd still take Wilwood's high quality, race-ready calipers over a Girling designed-in-the-'70s caliper any day of the week.
