I take it you're driving a different car for transportation? If so, and you have the time, you could rebuild the harnesses, however, it will be a tedious task.
Like I mentioned before, I rebuilt both harnesses. My goal was to replace all affected wiring with the same color scheme and gauge. I obtained an entire 88 900T wiring harness from a junk yard.
If you want more input on how I went about this project, let me know. The areas you describe degradation are the same areas I had problems. In addition, along with issues below radiator, fuel injectors, AIC and TPS. I would bet that your wiring that feeds into the driver's side door isn't so great either.
Like Justin said, the 85 900T wiring is unique, you can't buy a new one, and finding a good used one unlikely. You're left with repairing it, or changing over to a newer one. Justin can speak to that.
