do you seriously drive into the woods, park the car, turn off the motor and crank Paganini?!? that's kind of crazy + awesome...
like I said, there's all different ways of enjoying music... for me, the dynamic range available in a car with the motor running is really limited... I love to hear all the little details that make music come to life (requires the ability to hear very quiet stuff in the recording) + have all the spatial stuff right... of course, that usually comes at a cost (gear like Naim and Stax sure isn't cheap!)... very important in that is the front end, which isn't commonly very highly refined in car audio, at least from what I've observed (emphasis tends to be on speakers, which for me is putting the cart before the horse, but I know there are differing views wrt that)...
that said, I actually don't mind the stock c900 stereo for what it is - simple + not hyped... I do actually like blitzing down a twisting country road in our red c900 with Rush's "Red Barchetta" blasting away in the background... mostly music in the car is a background track for me, though in that context, I find it helps me stay alert rather than distract me...
James...
