Pulling off in third gear for weeks...

Don't beat me up, yet I have a car that I can't get into first or second- so I've been pulling off in third gear for the past few weeks. Yes, I can smell the clutch disc if it is a slight incline.
But, I figured, because it is vital that I drive- that I would do this until the clutch burns out-however, Amazingly- the car is still running! It has to be over two months- driving the car this way.
My questions are: what damage is being done? Certainly, the clutch disc- yet specifically- what of the transmission?
Thanks
