Hopefully, it's just the alternator belt. Sometimes when they break, they flail around and take out other components. The overheating puts up a red flag for me. Although, lack of amps to the fans could make them not operate at optimal speed I guess.
There are two belts on the alternator. Make sure you do them both. If you don't have AC (or don't have a belt on the compressor) then it's very simple. There is a 15mm nut on the end of the belt tensioning device directly on top of the alternator. The nut is to the left. Take the nut off and pull the tensioner gizmo out to the right. That will totally slacken the alternator so that you can push it toward the motor to put new belts on. The belts go on the second and third grooves of the main pulley (way down low on the motor. All the belts go to it). Put them on that pulley first, and then pull them onto the pulley on the alternator. Loosen the tensioning bolt on the tensioner, reinstall it (just put the 15mm bolt on loosely until you adjust belt tension), and then tighten the belts down with the 13mm nut on the tensioner so that they are taught, but not taught like a guitar string. You want them snug, but not too tight. Then tighten the 15mm nut down to secure it.
If you have a belt on the AC compressor, that will need to come off first. If you do, let us know, and we'll walk you through that too.
