Silicone, bushing rubber quality.... Posted by DET17 [Email] ![]() ![]() In Reply to: Re: My question is......, Justin VanAbrahams ![]() |
Thanks Justin, had not thought about Silicone spray, that might work!
When you press these bushings into these holders, it is a bugger....they are REAL tight going in, and really don't want to be pressed in an axial direction. I'm suspicious that the "good old days" quality from OEM SAAB, much like the OEM Volvo items I use on my 240's, ain't what they used to be. The FCP Groton URO parts from east Europa are not what the Germans made in the 70's and 80's. These eEuro replacements are Korean, and I'd say the rubber is nowhere as stiff as the OE....making them squirm when you press them.
I've got some poly in my rear suspension of my Volvo and Chevelle, but I like rubber in the LCA and UCA of my front ends.
Still waiting to hear if folks have torqued at weight & ride height.....
I'll be pressing the SYN-Blend ones out, since the tools will be at hand; I'll try the Silicone spray
