I agree. 2.0L engines are indestructible. 2.1L's came with the factory with a bad hg and many were probably damaged to some degree as a result (depending how soon the first one was changed and possibly by whom)... ours is low mileage, but has been apart 2x in our ownership (hg leak, burnt valve) and possibly once prior.
If I wanted more power from a 2.0L, I'd look into an LPT conversion!
of course, if a 2.1L is free and good and available and a 2.0L is not, sure, go for it...
