Damn, I didn't know the trans was cracked, If the crack doesn't go the entire way around I wonder if someone could braise it to seal it up? As for the front cross member, Id try to rig up some type of a way to hook your come along to it and see if you can draw it back out while tapping the edge with a hammer to see if it will come back out before cutting it out!
