Thanks for the recommendation, but they are the guys who rebuilt it previously and the turbo is going back to them as I type this. I have no doubt that they do excellent work.
After taking the turbo off and turning the engine over to get oil to come from the feed pipe I’ve noticed a black grit like substance in the collected oil which I can only assume is coked oil from the old feed pipe. I’ve since ordered a new feed pipe, had the drain pipe cleaned and will replace the oil cooler thermostat, (since it’s the 32 year old original and I’d like to ensure that the oil cooler is providing cooler oil).
When I get the new pipe fitted I’ll do the same test to see if the grit substance comes out of the new pipe.
I’m questioning wether to clean the oil cooler and it’s hoses?
