I've had one balance chain break in my 91 9KT, and one jump a few teeth so that the balancers were out of phase - my daughters 91 - 9K. I had to rebuild the turbo motor and just repair the other. Left out the balance chain, guides etc....all but the balance shafts and retainers. No difference in the turbo, the 9K runs a little rougher - NOT A BIG DEAL & SOOOOOO much cheaper!!
