Terry,
Indeed the light that indicates the TSC system 'takes over' is the orange one under the rev meter. It should come on when you do this gravel test.
The manual I am referring to is simply the user manual of my '95 Griffin. It states that there is a difference in the way models react to TCS failure: the AERO goes into limp mode, like my '92 9kT does occasionally. The V6 works differently: in case the system detects a failure it opens the TCS gas regulator valve totally, and keeps it there, effectively taking the system out without affecting other functions.
If you have the switch button, it should be next to your steering column, left on UK models I think, at least where you usually have this blank next to the ACC cabin sensor 'bull's eye'. It you had it, you would have noticed.
To my knowing there is no manual or other docs on this SAAB apart from the dealer references; I happen to have the Haynes, which is of very limited use for V6 (just body and some electronics). I searched around a bit, but did not find anything. Any ideas? should I use the Opel / Vauxhall Omega for the engine part?
