Wahler is a good second choice. I have a virtually "new" cooling system, most items replaced, with an 89 deg Waxstat installed. My guage reads from the 9-10 o'clock position when the car is at normal operating temp. If the car is sitting idling, it will never go above 10 since that's when the fan kicks in.
You worry when it hits the red, but 10 is just fine.
