One of the chaps I was talking to today has an oil analysis report from a new Ford, run in Texas for 4400 miles on the factory fill oil. The report shows the oil additive package is depleted and the oil is not fit for service!
Mercedes USA recently authorized use of synthetic (Mobil 1) for use in the high performance engines for the 10,000 mile services provided at no cost to the customer. Seems they had been losing quite a significant number of engines running non-synthetic in Texas heat.
Yep, afraid that most US oils don't match up!
